    • This is a true account told by the author who, at 92, was kind enough to share her book and her private accounts at our book club.

    • Loved this memoir written by a Netherlands Christian citizen who spent the war rescuing, relocating and providing id's and ratio cards to local Jews in hiding. Many Dutch were part of the Resistance demonstrating great courage and conviction to humanity.

    • A very good historical account of life during WWII and the courage of a young Dutch Resistance worker. It is amazing the things Diet and her fellow resistant workers did in order to help Jewish people and how they put themselves at risk with the threat of death all the time. These people living in Nazi occupied countries had to make very difficult decisions and sacrifices, and yet for them it was the only thing to do, the right thing to do!

    • God is faithful and provides for us even in the midst of unspeakable horrors and suffering. In this book, I understood how circumstances can suddenly change for the worse, yet God is still there with us. The book examines the terrible things man is capable of, and the wonderful miracles God can perform at the very same instant.

    • Diet Eman is a holocaust survivor. She played a vital role in the resistance shortly before during the years that Germany occupied the Netherlands. The book also contains letters between her and her boyfriend/fiancee and diary entries. It definitely shows yet another part of World War II.

    • POIGNANT. Grabbed me in the gut and made me want the steel spine and creative faith she and her friends possessed.
