    • This started off very good then turned into the usual thrillerish stuff, because it's a thriller. Don't thriller fans get bored of these boring familiar twists and turns? Oh look - he wasn't a this, he was a that. Who'da thought. And the missing hand was in the dog's mouth! And the laptop had had an affair with the coffee cup with the DNA on it! No, that can't be right. But the forensic experts were twins! And there was a misunderstanding on page 31 which has a repercussion on page 228. And the [...]

    • You can see this review in our blog: TheWildReadersHonestly, when I saw the blurb of this,I wasn't feeling it. Tess Gerritsen is known for her way of spooking you with medical words and when I read the summary, the first thing that came into my mind is :U R B A N L E G E N D I love urban legends but I was thinking that maybe T.G wouldn't do well with that genre so I was a little bit wary. But really, I shouldn't have doubted Tess Gerritsen because holy smoking mackerel, she did an amazing job co [...]

    • Widow Claire moves to Tranquility, Maine, with her teenage son, Noah. Noah was hanging out with a bad crowd in the city and getting into trouble with the law, so she hopes the change to small-town life will be beneficial to him. She has also set up a practice as the new town doctor. Claire and Noah are still adjusting to their new life months later. Then when November and the cold weather rolls around, there is suddenly a rash of violent and deadly behavior among the teenagers in town. Claire be [...]

    • This was my first Tess Gerritsen and I had high expectations. In the first half of the book, I started to feel disappointed. There are so many characters introduced, and the scenes are so short for each bit of the action, that I found it hard to follow the thread of the story. We seem to skip from character to character too quickly. I also, I have to say, found Claire, the main protagonist, a bit whingey. I prefer my female leads to have more bite. However, I should have been more patient!About h [...]

„Šėlą“ man pavyko ras [...]

    • I am a huge, self-confessed Tess Gerritsen fan. I love and adore her Rizzoli & Isles books (and the TV series which is totally different from the books, but the character interactions are great. The mysteriest so much). So, I assumed that I would like Bloodstream. I assumed that I would LOVE Bloodstream after I finished the prologue. It (the prologue, I mean) was nail-bitingly creepy. I was seriously holding my breath while frantically clicking on the Kindle. I thought that the prologue woul [...]

    • Soon after Tess Gerritsen's Ice Cold was published in 2010, I saw a friend borrowing a copy of it from another friend. I was completely unaware of Gerritsen and her Rizzoli and Isles series - Ice cold is the eighth book in the series. I borrowed the book too, liked it, and quickly read all of the earlier books in the series and a few of Gerritsen's very early thrillers. Bloodstream is another of her early thrillers. It was published in 1998, a few years before the first Rizzoli and Isles book. I [...]

    • It was good, decent author. I have to admit, I thought it'd be better. The thriller genre doesn't thrill me as much as it once did.

    • In spring came the rains. In summer came the heat.In winter came the horrorWhat happens when you mix medical knowledge, horror and a small town? Well, for starters, you get Bloodstream: A thrilling novel about the unexplained, the fear of exclusion and the bond between a mother and son.Sound like something you'd like? It should, because while not perfect, author Tess Gerritsen writes in a way that commands you to turn the pages. Bloodstream can sometimes creak under the weight of its own story, b [...]

    • A rash of violent and deadly incidents, perpetrated by teenagers rock a Northern Maine township causing a deep seeded fear, pitting people against people and families against families. This township, with the unlikely name of Tranquillity, lives off of the summer tourist trade generated by Locust Lake. When a local connection is made with other similar incidents of the past, a search for answers is made by the police chief, Lincoln Kelly and a local G. P. Dr. Claire Elliot. Claire is new to the [...]

    • Bloodstream is my first book by Tess Gerritsen that I've read. And I'm glad that I did. After her husband's death, Dr. Claire Elliot together with her teenage son Noah moved to Tranquility, a small town in Maine. She hoped that this move will be a good opportunity for Noah to forget the past and for her to start running the medical practice. But all her hope dies when winter came, and teenagers starts acting in rage and violence. Fearful that her son is now at risk, Claire desperately seeks the c [...]

    • Bloodstream is Tess Gerritsen's 11th stand-alone novel. The action is set in the small town of Tranquility, Maine, where Dr Claire Elliott has relocated with her son, Noah, to remove him from less-than-desirable influences in Baltimore. After the discovery of some human bones at nearby Locust Lake, followed by a shooting at the high school Noah attends, Claire begins to suspect something is affecting the behaviour of the local youth population. Are they being affected by drugs, or is it some nat [...]

Absolute aanrader!!!

    • I have a hard time accepting that she wrote this book, its just not the same as the others. Its horrible, predictable and something I would think a teen would write.

    • Medical Thriller I borrowed this book from the library and used both a Kindle version and an audio version so that I could "read" when I was driving or knitting/crocheting. Claire Elliott and her son, Noah, have moved to Tranquility, Maine to help him get away from a bad influence in their old hometown and to give them a chance to get over the loss of her husband and his father. They had been there since the summer when she purchased a practice from the family of a deceased doctor and she was h [...]

    • Absorbing story that held my attention. Very surprising ending! I'm mad at myself that for didn't see it coming.

    • Interesting, but too much like "Life Support" that I've just finished two days ago - similar main characters, plot twists and even minor love affairs seem the same.

    • Well doneAs all of her books are. I have read many of her books and Bloodstream is right up there with the best of them. Gerritsen will never let you down.

    • This is the first book I have read by Tess Gerritsen and wow is it an amazing book! Her central character is Dr. Isles who is a Medical Examiner. In this story something is happening to the teeneagers of a town that's turning them into hostile violent, even murderous persons. Dr. Isles must discover what is causing this horrendous transformation before the situation spreads and becomes worse. After reading thise book, I will defintely read more of Gerritsen's intense thrillers. This one was hard [...]

    • Dr Claire Elliot moves with her 14yr old son, Noah to a small town on the edge of a lake, in the hope he gets on with his studies and make friends with a nice bunch of kids.It is clear quite early on that the opposite is happening.Along with unveiled hostility towards her, there is trouble in the high school with teenagers fighting and carrying out the most brutal acts.Along with the local Police Officer, Lincoln, Claire embarks on a rather dangerous and I think a very brave investigation, to se [...]

    • Tess Gerritsen is definitely the Queen of the Medical Thriller, at least in my eyes. Her background in medicine helps create very believable and readable medical situations, which are the basis for the thriller aspect of the stories. In this case, teenagers in an otherwise sleepy Maine town are becoming unexplainably violent and turning on friends and family members. When a historically similar situation is uncovered, the town is divided between those who want to hide the information because it [...]

    • Claire Eliot is the main character, she is a young widow with a teenage son named Noah.Claire and Noah Move to a small town after the death of their husband/father. Claire has bought the practice of the old town doctor who has passed away and acquired all the problems one might expect in such a situation plus a few nobody could ever expect. Odd, violent things begin to happen in the town of Tranquility. The ending came too soon. I felt that Tess just wanted to finish the book. I wanted to know mo [...]

    • The more Tess Gerritsen novels I read, the more I enjoy her books. This Is one of Tess Gerritsen's standalone medical thrillers. Whilst not quite as enjoyable as the Rizzoli/Isles series and maybe this was a little long-winded in parts, but an enjoyable and suspenseful novel nonetheless that held my attention throughout and surprised me with its ending. You can do far worse than snuggle up with one of these on a cold winter's night!

    • One of Gerritsen's earlier worksWhen I first started reading I was disappointed that her normal characters were not present (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles) they are incredible, interesting and strong female characters. I got over it by page 30.ough I didn't feel like I knew the people in this book like I have others, the story was engaging and kept me up past my bed time two nights in a row for "just one more chapter"Good Stuff!

    • This was an exciting read. Dr Claire Eliot moves to the small town of Tranquility, Maine, to start afresh after the death of her husband and her teenage son getting into trouble. However, as Winter draws in, there is an outbreak of murderous teenage violence. What is behind it? The plot is a sort of cross between Stephen King, ER, X-Files and teen horror flicks, and is a real page turner! Great denouement.

    • The medical terms make the story interesting to follow. Set in a vacation town, Tranquility, Maine. It shows history repeated in 50 years ("murderous epidemic") when Lake Locust became too high & is infected with unknown drug. A "Bone Skull" found starts the research. The major characters to follow: Dr. Claire Elliot (New Doctor from Baltimore) and Police Lincoln Kelly - thriller & romance.
