A fun little read for lovers of the film. The author adds a bit here and there, alters things in other places. Isabeau is decidedly more helpless and waifish here than she is on screen. No se porque en algunas partes también me ha recordado a historias como caperucita y el cazador, o a la princesa prometida. Bought this because I loved the movie as a teenager. Surprisingly, there is not much more depth to the book - there is little additional detail about how the characters are feeling; the dialogue and script are an almost word perfect match; and virtually the entire book was included in the movie. It's been awhile since I read this book but I do recall enjoying it as much as I loved the movie. There were extra scenes that went into more detail of scenes from the movie. The scene where Mouse is telling Navarre about what Isabeau spoke the night after the wolf hunt is an example. Which is one of my favorite scenes from the movie. One of my all time favorite movies so of course I had to have the book as well.

Since I saw the film a long time ago, I felt in love with the story. The story of the book is wonderful but it could be more detailed. It's exactly the same as the film.

Can't say I read it, but just discovered that Joan D. Vinge wrote this book, which is one of my favourite films! Loved all the actors. Matthew Broderick was adorable then. And Michelle Pheiffer, so beautiful. Just adored it and have watched it many, many times!

The characters are not very deeply written, as in most movie tie-ins. But LadyHawke is interesting and a decent read. The story mostly revolves around Phillipe and his discovery of curse put upon Navarre and Isabeau, and his relationship with both parties. Personally, I thought the book was an okay read, but I would have liked to have seen the author delve more into the personalities and history of the characters. I had seen the movie many times and always wanted to read the book. I love this magical, surreal story. It's when I started loving black wolves! When I read the book, I knew the dialogue was nearly word-for-word from the movie. The book was copyright protected in 1985 by Warner Brothers. I've always loved this story of a woman who is a hawk by day and a man that becomes a wolf by night due to a spell someone puts on their relationship. Somehow you can interpret it as the truth of any marriage relationship! We can love each other to death and really yearn for each other. But, by night, when you want to reach out to each other, you can't because he's growling so much. And during the day, she flies off after the things that need doing. Novelization from a screenplay. I liked the movie and was hoping for more insight to characters and/or deleted scense, which some movie novelizations have. I found the insights from the character especially Phillipe in the book were totally different from what I got from the movie. It was still an enjoyable "light" reading but I still would rather spend the time watching the movie instead of reading the novelization.

I really loved the movie Ladyhawke (yes, even the soundtrack) and so when I found the novelization in the used bookstore, I snatched it up. It goes nicely next to my novelizations of Willow and Dragonslayer. Although the plot is still top-notch, the writing of the book wasn't as great as I'd hoped. I realize the author wrote the novel from the movie script, and it was very apparent. Not to say that the book was bad, just it didn't have the depth of a typical novel.

If I rated this on how much I enjoyed it, it would get 5 stars. I remember exactly where I bought it, the bookstore at the Mall in Greenville, SC. At first I was not even aware it was a novelization of a movie. I liked it a lot.Not the best book ever, for sure, but it gets three stars for the happy memories!

I've always loved the movie and know I'm in love with the book. This is one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever heard of and even knowing the ending, I cried a river over it.~*~Em português aqui.

This was a favorite book when I was a teen. I then watched the movie multiple times & loved it, too. I look forward to re-reading this some day when the kids are older and seeing if they enjoy it as much as I did.

I loved this book. I had seen the movie many many times before I read the book which is actually based on the screen play. Suggest you seek out the movie and then read the book. Tremendously funny and touching story.

The book is much like the movie (movie is one of my all time favorites)but with more details revealed. A very good read. I give it four stars because the story is so unique and I was able to finish it, which these days is saying alot.
