    • This is a modern day Indian Jones type of romantic suspense. It’s set in contemporary times but has a fantasy adventure feel to it. Narice is the headmistress at a prestigious school whose life is turned upside down. First her dad is murdered in a horrible way, then she is kidnapped by some nasty fellows, and finally she is kidnapped again by a man who claims he is saving her from the bad kidnappers. Head spinning yet? This is how the book begins but as the story unfolds things start to make a [...]

    • A book I apparently almost didn't get. lol. I received it with the wrapping burned and sootie. The book itself is readable though. Anyway, my first read by Beverly Jenkins. I've noticed her mentioned many times so I decided to finally try her out. This may not have been the right book to start with. It had wonderful strong characters and a good, if a little far-fetched, plot. Sort of a "James Bond meets Indiana Jones" type thing. But something in the execution didn't really appeal to me. I didn' [...]

    • EXCELLENT, what else can I say! A PAGE-TURNING, thrilling romantic ride from start to finish. Saint is SEXY-AS-ALL-GET-OUT. And Narice went from "damsel in distress" to vibrant and TEMPTING side-kick. I was once again CAUGHT UP in the chase, the mystery and the HOT & SPICY romance. Mrs. Jenkins DEFINITELY has a way with the written word! And I truly enjoy the skillful way she incorporates loads of historical tidbits into her romantic adventures. I can't wait to the read the next book in this [...]

    • This is my second book written by Beverly Jenkins and I know I'm a slow started but I aim to read all her available books this read.Romance with heart racing suspense at its best. I understand why she sits on the top of many readers and writers list for she's sitting on mines.

    • I really liked this story. I had a few problems with time lines being that this book was written in 2004 and I couldn't quite connect Narice's father with having served in WWII. Should probably have been her grandfather. But I let it go and enjoyed Saint and Narice's story. Where Mykal had kind of run roughshod over Sarita, Narice held her own with Saint. You'd think, with him being portrayed as a James Bond sort, he'd be cocky and overbearing. I was truly impressed with him being a laid back co [...]

    • This was my first book by this author. It was an audiobook. I enjoyed everything about this book. Very well written romance novel. Nareese and St. Martin had chemistry that was undeniable. The passion they shared was apparent. The danger they experienced and the close proximity to one another seemed to have drawn them even closer. I recommend this novel to those that enjoy reading romance books. Good Job Beverly Jenkins!

    • Enjoyed reading and listening to "The Edge Of Dawn".Baby brother Saint and Narice were really good together. I am enjoying this mysterious side of Mrs. Beverly Jenkins and loving it. It was nice to know that Mykal, Drake and Saint are all descendants of Galen and Hester. Now on to read about Detroit's middle brother Mayor and Orthopedic Surgeon Drake Randolph and Detroit's Environmental Protection Department Lacy Green.

    • This was filled with historic references, romance, danger and adventure. This series of books are set in the present but reconnect to the older characters. This book is Saint's story as he has been asked to protect Narice Jordan and retrieve a valuable gem. But of course there are others looking for it as well. It will sometimes have you sitting on the "edge" of your seat waiting for dawn.

    • When the Saint marches inSuspenseful--so much so I could only read a few pages before I had to take a break.Romantic but not erotic but enough to make your toes curl.Historical as are all her novels--full of African American history notes.Great book.

    • Mike and Sarita were made for each other! I love all of Beverly Jenkins books but I have a special place in my heart for her books that have real kick ass lead female characters. Sarita fits this bill very well.

    • Great change of pace for Beverly from historical romance to contemporary romance with mystery/suspense. Loved it.

    • Unlike most of the Beverly Jenkins romance novels, The Edge of Dawn is set in present times. The characters are well developed and the story is good. I enjoyed this novel.

    • I love, love, loved this story! I liked that the relationship took longer than A WEEK and the couple got to know one another. I even laughed out loud.

    • It was a good romantic mystery. Lots of action and adventure. Left me wondering what will happen between Narice and Saint.

    • You can't help but to fall in love with Saint and Narice's love story. They are both so opposite and just shouldn't be together but they can't help themselves.

    • Loved loved loved this book! This was the best intrigue/mystery/thriller/romance book for the Af-Am genre that I've read in a long time. Can't wait to read Ms. Jenkins' other works

    • If you love a mystery who done it and a love story this book is for you.It was rather long but once I got into it I could not put it down bravo for BJ's early work

    • This had everything--romance, action, suspense, and mystery. It even gave you a little history. This author, IMO, can do no wrong. Another favorite.

    • This is my favorite of Ms. Jenkins' Present day books! I have read it at least four times. Excellent Story! Action packed and romance filled. Great Read!
