    • Emily loves training her nurses and that's why she doesn't want to become the assistant matron at St Angelus. This means there's a vacancy for the function. When the experienced Miss Van Gilder is being hired Emily knows the hospital has a problem. Miss Van Gilder is too strict, she doesn't care about the patients and doesn't seem to have any empathy. There's also something strange going on with her and Emily and her friends need to discover what it is before she manages to ruin everything they' [...]

    • Great book I really enjoyed it and the loved following the story that is based around a hospital in 1954 Liverpool.

    • Another amazing book from the lovely lane series by Nadine Dorries. This story starts slowly but gathers pace after a few chapters. It has quite a few strands, with different characters which adds to the feel of the book. I loved catching up with the angels of lovely lane, and the community of St. Angelis hospital. The story has plenty of real emotion and drama, tragedy and tender moments when everyone pulls together. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this fantastic series, The Mot [...]

    • The Children of Lovely Lane written by the very talented Nadine Dorries was another wonderful read in this very addictive series. With this book the four girls which we met in the last book The Angels of Lovely Lane namely Dana, Pammy, Victoria and Beth are enjoying their time at St Angelus, and their nursing training is starting to take shape so well they have now been released on the wards which meant as a reader we got to know the patients who came in contact with this wonderful group of frie [...]

    • Ever since I read The Angels Of Lovely Lane, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. For me that one and this book stuck in my mind, I am not sure if it is the characters, the storyline or the author's words but it has really touched my heart. After reading the first couple of chapters, I was so pleased to see the familiar characters and places. The nurses of St Angelus are thriving in their careers and everyone is routing for them to do well. (I know I was!) I loved Sister Therese, she is su [...]

    • The second book in the Lovely Lane trilogy and I loved it as much as I loved the first one. We are back with the nurses of Lovely Lane but we also meet new characters, some good and others not so good. An excellent read

    • I enjoyed this book just as much as I enjoyed the first in the series. Now Emily has graduated from nursing school and has worked her way up to be Director of the Student Nurses. She works all day and in the evening, she visits her step-father who has dementia. She gets along with the Matron but they aren't especially friends by any means. We again meet some of the student nurses, Victoria who is from a wealthy family but is intent on becoming a nurse, Pammy who comes from a poorer neighborhood [...]

    • Love this bookThe characters were so lovely, thoroughly enjoyed the story of the probationary nurses and the struggles of the people on Liverpool during and after the war. The story was well written, increase read. Can't wait for the third instalment in the series. Thank you Nadine, these two books were the first books I have read by you and will be reading all of your other titles too.

    • After loving the first book in this series I was excited when I came across this one. I wanted something to distract me from the election chaos going on here, but it wasn't really what I was hoping for. This book made me cry more than any other book I can ever remember reading and I can't help but think alternative events and outcomes would have still made the book just as enjoyable.

    • When I say I loved this book, I thoroughly mean it. This book made me feel things. It made me happy and at one particular point it broke my heart so much that I actually cried. A lot. This book is terrific and Nadine Dorries has once again blown me away. In conclusion, everyone needs to read this series.

    • I found this a little difficult to get into, the writing is quite ‘flowery’. As I got further into the book though it got better and I really wanted to know how things would turn out. I would recommend this book to friends and family.

    • Another good book continuing the story of St Angelus Hospital in Liverpool in the 1950s. The trainee nurses we met in the first book are continuing their training and the hospital adjusts to cope with the rising demands on it from the newly created NHS.

    • Lovely storyThe reader will feel part of the story, and cry where you would if it happened to you. True to I've as it was I a sure, it felt so real. I am looking forward to reading more about this family. I loved this book.
