    • Original review on Molly LollyFour stars! As a YA story this is definitely the target audience for the story. It will likely go over well with the YA crowd. However the book is missing emotion and detail in some areas it was needed. The world building however was wonderful. It was effortless how I fell into this world with the animals, the menagerie, Guider and the adventure Karen went on. It made the lack of emotion that much more frustrating because the potential for it is there in the great st [...]

    • I enjoyed this book. It's a very different take on space. Our main character is abducted to act as zoo keeper to a bunch of animals from different planets. The previous zoo keeper has died, so she's left with an orb to guide her. Things get messy when you're caring for dragons that shoot snot rockets, and our MC doesn't know if she can handle it. But she doesn't have much of a choice. As the only human on board, if she doesn't care for these animals, they'll die.Through the course of this book, [...]

    • What would you do if you were abducted by aliens and told you were now the sole caretaker of an interstellar zoo? This is exactly what happens to the main character, Karen Fox. Not only does she have a dislike for pets, she has no experience in caring for them, much less alien animals. Caring for the critters is the only way she will get back home to earth, however, so she steps up to the task. As if taking care of the menagerie of unusual animals wasn't enough, Karen soon finds herself tangled [...]

    • Karen has lost everything in a dreadful car accident; her parents, her friends, everything that made her life worth living. Her outlook was bitter a bleak, with a healthy dose of self-loathing. That was until something caught her eye out of the hospital window. After investigating, she was suddenly kidnapped by an automated spaceship. Filled with protected (and valuable) creatures from strange worlds, like Cararians and Malurion Dragons, Karen got a crash course in caring for them in a fashion s [...]

    • I enjoyed this book. Karen is a very well developed character and I felt her pain from the very beginning. I felt sorry for her as she went through the grief of losing her parents and getting all scarred up. I am glad she had one friend come visit her, though. She needed him right then. I loved the story plot and yes, Guider was even a great character. The names you came up for the animals made me giggle. I loved them all. The ones that blew snot left a little something to be desired but I liked [...]

    • Karen Fox wakes up in a hospital bed only to find the world as she knew it no longer exists for her. Her parents were killed in an accident which has left her with a scar on her face and a leg that will never be normal. One day she's become a cheerleader and the next she is avoided like the plague and unable to even walk correctly. Ron is the first person to come to see her who did not try to find a reason to leave quickly. She wasn't as pleased about him having his dog with him as Ron expected. [...]

    • Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author. As always, JS Frankel’s imagination never ceases to amaze me. He creates fantastic science-fiction plots and this book is no exception. The Menagerie captures you from the very beginning with the tragedy of Karen’s experience, having lost not only her parents but also her heath and appearance due to a car accident. Karen seemed a bit gullible at the beginning of the book when, after encountering an ET in the forest next to her hospita [...]

    • If you like interstellar travel, alien critters, and action, then this is the book for you. Follow Karen Fox, teen, survivor of a terrible car crash that claimed her parent's lives and left young Karen scarred and lame. Karen Fox, who only wants to be normal, who hates animals in general, is abducted from Earth in order to care for an interstellar zoo bound for a haven far, far away. Along the way, she encounters a multitude of aliens, experiences friendship and loss, and surmounts her fears. A [...]
