    • While I really enjoyed the first book in this series, I was slightly disappointed with this sequel. Firstly, I disliked how it kept jumping character's viewpoints, from Scarlet to Ivy. As the first book was narrated entirely from Ivy's point of view I would have preferred it if it had remained the same for the sequel. Which brings me to the main reason why this book annoyed me a bit: I really dislike Scarlet! I thought she was a really selfish brat, and I found it difficult to sympathise with he [...]

    • This book is so scrumptious. It's like 2.3 times better than the first book. It's like mystery after mystery. And once I started to read it I literally couldn't put it down, it's like a drug. Amazing, amazing. Just amazing.

    • The sequel was an awesome continuation of the first. The mystery and risks were just as intense and high as the first book, if not more so. The addition of Scarlet to the story made less Ariadne, which was only made more tiresome because Scarlet made me want to slap her every couple of chapters. I fell more in love with Ivy this book as she came more into herself, discovering that being Ivy didn't mean being passive, and also that following the rules didn't mean you were somehow weaker or less c [...]

    • I thought the second book of this series would not be able to keep up the interest as the first did but it turns out it does. New plots are introduced and a lot more happen at Rookwood.

    • This book was really good. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because it drags on. This book would be good for younger people. There is another book that is coming out next year and I would pick it up. If a fourth book would be to come out, I would pick it up, but it would take me a while to actually pick it up and read it.

    • I couldn't resist reading this book the second it arrived! Unfortunately, I didn't think it was as good as the first one. I mean, I obviously liked it (I gave it 4 stars after all) but I didn't LOVE and ADORE it like I did the first one. Mainly because I did NOT like Scarlet at all. I loooooved Ivy in the first one and I wish she had continued to be the narrator this time round. Every time it switched to Scarlet's point of view I wanted to shake her. You would think the events of the first book [...]

    • My 16 year old son's rating: 4.5 starsMy 12 year old daughter's rating: 5 starsMy 10 year old son's rating: 5 starsMy 5 year old son's rating: 6 out of 6 stars (he really did say that)Me? Pffftthh. Oh, I don't know. I was bored with it. But I think that's just me right now in life. I drive my kids to and from school; at least half an hour there, and usually about 18 minutes home. Then there's the time I'm driving home or to the school by myself. BLAH. That's why I listen to so many audiobooks, b [...]

    • The Whispers In The Walls by Sophie Cleverly is about twin sisters Scarlet and Ivy who are shipped away to a boarding school. That boarding school is really weird because in the last book a teacher took Scarlet the older twin to a asylum and replaced her with Ivy and told Ivy to take her place as Scarlet. In this book Scarlet and Ivy are back in the strange boarding school, even though they went home to try to convince there Dad and Step-mom to let them stay home instead of going to the strange [...]

    • I received this book through giveaways for a fair and honest review. I liked the book but wish I had read the previous book in the series first, as there are many references to what happened previously. The story is about twins, Scarlet and Ivy and their adventures at Rookwood boarding school. The girls do not want to return to the school after what happened in the previous book, but things might be different with a new headmaster . But, Mr Bartholemew is a tyrant and all the girls and teachers a [...]

    • Personally speaking, I enjoyed this book much more than the first in the series- The lost twin. Why? I felt as though this story line was much more exciting, and there were much more mysteries. The book is filled with suspense, and I guarantee you wouldn't put it down! The characters are greatly described 👍🏻

    • A good follow-up mystery to her first book, "The Lost Twin." This will be a good recommend for girls looking for a mystery series. And the stage has been set for a third book. Way to go Sophie Cleverly! You had me with the first and you've maintained my enthusiasm. Am looking forward to "The Dance in the Dark."

    • One of my favourite series ever, and i'm only read the second one. I love Rookwood even if it's not the happiest place in earth, but i wish i could be there with the twins and solve all the mysteries 😍

    • 4.5 starsI loved this book. Although Scarlett really got on my nerves. I was unprepared to feel that way. It was fast-paced and surprising at turns. I have the rest in series and plan to read them soon. (UK version has released 4 books so far.)

    • To be honest I didn't like it as much as the first book. I liked the perspective changes, from the different points of view. The storyline wasn't as good as the first story, but overall it was a good read, can't wait to read the next book!

    • I think these books are amazing! The twist of mystery, fun and funny it's just amazing! I love the plots and well everything!

    • It was absolutely fantastic, you get to see the aftermath from the ending of the first book which is simply mind blowing.

    • This is a nice middle-grade mystery book. The action is not very complicated and not a lot of explanation is provided for different characters' motivation. But there are a few interesting and even unexpected twists. Some moments can also be a little intense and intentionally scary for younger readers, but not to such an extent that I wouldn't give the book to a child of 10 years. This is the second book in a series, and there are quite a few references to the first book. I had not read the first [...]

    • Twins Ivy and Scarlet have been reunited, and their father has promptly shipped them back to Rookwood where headmaster Mr Bartholomew has taken up the reigns again and instituted a policy of strict discipline that is not at all to the girls's liking. And something strange is going on in the school again: thievery, strange sounds in the walls and clues to a hidden secret from 20 years ago keep the twins along with Ivy's clever friend Ariadne busy.Like the first one, this was an entertaining board [...]

    • Good book Since this is forcing me to tell u about it I will Another term at Rockwood Boarding School For Girls The head master back but none of the girls knew about the troubles ahead. Scarlet and Ivy embark on another adventure but this time to stop the evil Mr. Bartholimew that they have never seen.(sorry I don't know how to spell it) Will they win or will they fail? Rate it 5 stars Great book, a bit sad at some point though. Hope this isn't spoilers :( I hope you like it aswell! Well done ye [...]

    • These are fine. They are fun. They have no real importance or weight butfun! The plot is slightly telegraphed, but then, I'm pushing 40 and reading something whose first comment is by a 9 year old. I may simply be over-qualified :)3 will be a good #. If, after 3, there appears to be moreok, Harry can upend the school every year, but English school girls? Three years is sufficient.Enjoy!

    • Couldn't decide between 3 and 4 stars, so would give it 3.5. A simple and easy book which I'll be recommending to my middle to upper primary students. A good follow up for those who are fans of Enid Blytons' boarding school series. A little confusing as to whose perspective we were reading, and didn't enjoy it as much as book one, but a terrific cliffhanger at the end means I'll definitely be reading the next book to see how it concludes.
