    About “Lila Ashe

    • Lila Ashe

Howdy I ve had a lot of jobs in the past, but writing is the best job of all I m also a 911 dispatcher for a tiny fire department in a small, rural town Surprisingly, compared to waitressing or bartending I can balance a tray while whipping up a batch of mojitos , dispatching is a walk in the park with fewer surly customers You have to be a schizophrenic octopus to love doing 911 I am definitely that I ve lived for enough years in the big city to appreciate the small town life, especially when that life is the really good one, out here on the Northern California Coast.I m happily married and addicted to all things romantic, including surprise getaways to San Francisco for clam chowder or overnight trips to Napa for wine, but I ve also found that being romantic at home can be just as exciting or so There are lots of places you can find me out in this wide world besides , and I d love to chat with you at all of them Facebook makes me a little nervous because I m shy I like Twitter best, by the way And you.

    • Everyday Hero by Lila AsheThe Volunteers – A Darling Bay Short StoryNoah Mercer was having an off day. Why not get run over by a little cupcake car with a beautiful woman dressed like a cupcake inside? Only being run over by her ended up making his day pretty bright. Until a big secret she was hiding came out and made the day gray again.Ruby Elliot was intrigued by the handsome fireman, no volunteer fireman and full time plumber. He was handsome and kind. Of all times to meet a guy like him, d [...]

    • I first discovered this little gem when going through my notifications. I enjoy a good story about Firefighters. After Ruby crashes into Noah their lives are never the same. As Ruby tries to make up for the minor accident her well hidden secret becomes very public. What will Noah do?I love how the reader is given the alternating points of view from the two main characters. I also love how each misunderstands what the other is thinking and feeling. It helps build up to the big reveal at the end.F [...]

    • 3.5 star - I liked it. So far in the two stories I've read from Ashe's series she has the nice guy hero down pat. So an accident brings Noah and Ruby together, they form an instant connection and then Noah gets to show his heroic side. What was here was cute but I would have loved more of good guy volunteer firemen Noah. FYI this is exceedingly short at 27 pages (at .99), but since I got one of Ashe's other books for free I am not exactly complaining.

    • Too shortToo shortThis was a great read, but I wanted it to continue. I wanted to know the future. I usually do not read fiction, but I can't get enough of Lila's writing.
