    • I've been a fan of Tracie Peterson for quite awhile. I always look forward to her newest books. She is able to write an attention grabbing story that has a wonderful blend of faith and lightness to it.A Moment in Time continues right where A Sensible Arrangement ends. The Lone Star Brides series is reading thus far like a smooth three part story. We still have all of our character that we came to know from Sensible Arrangement and still see the story through their eyes, but not as much. The stor [...]

    • Alice Chesterfield has survived a brutal attack that killed her father and left her with a horrible scar. But she is still stalked by the man responsible and lives every day in fear. When given the chance to move to Texas, Alice knows that it will be a fresh start. Soon she finds herself in danger of losing her heart to Robert Barnett who's as good as engaged to another girl. I hadn't read the first book in the series, just picked this one up thinking that the synopsis looked promising. What a l [...]

    • What a wonderful continuation of the Lone Star Brides series! I really loved this book. It picks up right where the first book of the series, A Sensible Arrangement, leaves off.A Moment in Time focuses on Alice Chesterfield, a woman who lives in fear and feels that no man will ever be able to love her because of her scarred face. Alice is such a kind and likeable character. She truly tries to be nice to everyone and does not want to cause problems for anybody. As she begins to have feelings for [...]

    • Series of Lone Star Brides book #2 "A Moment in Time" by Tracie PetersonI love to read about brides and their men so this book was just perfect for me. Tracie is an author I like reading because she makes the characters so believable and lovable. This is the story mainly of Alice but has little more of Marty&Jake from book #1 who was the lone star bride then.Alice is being persued and has been hurt terribly that left a scar on her face, she is sure she will never have a man want to be with h [...]

    • I enjoyed this book. Was it predictable ? A little bit but sometimes that's what we need :) a gentle, sweet story and this one made me tear up at the end so bravo! Another plus for me was the first kiss was when they got married. I love the purity! I was a little frustrated with the characters at times for not communicating better and it would have cut most of the conflict out but again, this is a book you pick up knowing what to expect and that's ok :) the 3rd one coming out next has Jessica as [...]

    • 4.25 stars. I really enjoyed Alice's story. Marty is a huge character in this book, too, and a lot of things left over from the last book are resolved in this one. So far this is my favorite in the series, and I enjoyed it a great deal. It was really pleasant to find a solid Christian message throughout the books, with a specific focus on doing the right thing morally despite one's own inclinations.

    • A Moment in Time is the perfect continuation of A Sensible Arrangement. It gave me everything that I was missing from the first book along with a wonderful romance centered around Alice. It almost seems like the two books should have been one because you get the perspective of both Marty and Alice in both books and in the second book you are still working through a lot of the issues that surrounded Marty in the first book. The points of contention over the status of the bank, moving to Texas, Al [...]

    • A Moment in Time is the 2nd book in the Lone Star Brides series by Tracie Peterson. This novel continues the story of Marty Olson Wythe and Alice Chesterfield, the young woman who had been attacked and her father murdered in Denver. In the beginning of the book, Marty's husband Jake has gone to Texas to find work but Marty had refused to go with him remaining in Denver. Eventually, they are reunited and then the novel focuses more on Alice's story which includes romance and an unexpected visit f [...]

    • For some reason, I can not put these books down. They just suck me in and I blame it entirely on the fact that these have the slowest burning romances. I just can't stop until something important happens. The romances are slow, but still fast paced at the same time if that makes sense. I feel like if I put the book down for even a moment, they will kiss and I'll miss it all. Also, these books have the worst endings ever. I keep thinking I have at least ten more pages left and then it's all over. [...]

    • .The characters and main story plot were interesting and likeable. For some reason, that I am having difficulty pinpointing, I was not as captivated by the first two books of this series as I thought I would be.Again, part of the dilemma was that there are so many different characters and subplots that vie for your attention, that it is hard to keep up.I prefer a series where each book in the series is able to stand on its own and delivers an HEA. Therefore, I was perturbed by the many unanswered [...]

    • I am not entirely sure I care to find out how the story ends. Why do authors have to tie things up quickly and neatly with a pretty bow? Anyways, it was quick and I did want to finish the book. It was light and fluffy yet some of the authors faith based insights were insightful and applicable to my own life.

    • A sweet sequel to A Sensible Arrangement. I loved seeing Alice and Robert fall in love, and I really loved seeing Jake and Marty with their kids.

    • Christian romanceWell researched historical romance set in late 1800's American West. Interesting characters blended with romance story with plentiful Christian references and quotes.

    • This is truly an amazing continuation to A Sensible Arrangement. I got glued. Can't wait for the next novel. Just hoping to see a twist in those certificates and the end of Mr. Smith???

    • Alice is trying to escape a man who has evil intentions and thinks Texas may be the answer. There she meets Robert. Will they be able to overcome the many obstacles in their lives and be able to move forward? Will Alice find out about the secrets her deceased father had? Will they endanger her life again? Will she be able to reconcile his lies and move on with her life? A good read.

    • Title: A Moment in Time (Lone Star Brides #2)Author: Tracie PetersonPages: 320Year: 2014Publisher: BethanyThe first novel in the series is titled, A Sensible Arrangement, where we meet Marty who has left Texas in the hopes of a fresh start. We also meet Jacob who is a Texan and rancher at heart, but having no ranch inheritance so he went to Denver to work in banking. This sequel continues the story of these two young people now married, but definitely not in agreement as to where to live when th [...]

    • Review of A Moment In Time-Tracie Peterson had me captivated with her story A Moment In Time. Although I was coming in on her second book in the series, I didn't feel lost or wondering in this story. Alice Chesterfield, her main character, is a broken girl with a traumatizing past that continues to haunt her. Marty Wythe and her husband Jake had taken Alice under their wing, but unfortunate circumstances has forced the family from their home in Denver. With talk of moving back to Marty's home st [...]

    • In A Moment in Time by Tracie Peterson, we meet Alice Chesterfield, an 18-year-old who lost her father a year ago, in 1893 Colorado during an economic downturn. The man responsible for his murder is still following her and harassing her for something she doesn’t have in her possession (and can’t even prove its existence). Alice previously worked as a housemaid to Marty Wythe and her husband, Jake. Even after Alice loses her father and the economy crumbles, Marty and Jake continue to welcome [...]

    • First things first: I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review. Overall, I enjoyed the first book in this series A Sensible Arrangement. This is book two in the Lone Star Brides series. The next book, A Matter of Heart, will be released in Fall 2014. It will center onJessica Atherton, who you meet in A Moment in Time. The book picks up where the last one left off. Alice and Marty are working at the orphanage in Denver while Jake, Marty's hu [...]

    • This is book two in the Lone Star Brides series. I haven't read book one yet and was able to follow everything. The characters were so interesting that I am eager to go back and read book one just to learn more about them.I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Marty is a firecracker of a woman, willing to face down stalkers and robbers, yet so afraid of losing her loved ones that it paralyzes her at times. Alice has been disfigured in an attack but is a sweet, godly woman that reminds me [...]

    • A Nice sequel. I was left in a huge cliff hanger in A Sensible Arrangement so I dove right into the opportunity to read A Moment in Time. I found it to be a sweet read, but I think I would have liked it better if it wasn't a stand alone. Because it is a stand alone, however, the pace slowed for me after the suspense scene it opens with, starring the notorious Mr. Smith once again. The repeats of important facts from A Sensible Arrangement causes the pace to kinda fall into a lull of sorts. When [...]

    • I must admit, I have mixed feelings about A Moment in Time. It's the second book in Peterson's Texas Brides series, and I really enjoyed the book one, A Sensible Arrangement, so I highly anticipated continuing Jake, Marty, and Alice's story. At first, I was incredibly frustrated as I read—Marty made so much progress in the first book, and when this one started, it was like she had completely regressed. I understand that she didn't want to go back to Texas, but the Marty at the end of A Sensibl [...]

    • Alice Chesterfield was left alone when an attack left her father dead and her face scarred. She lives in fear that the man responsible will return and harm her and those she has come to care for--Jake and Marty Wythe. When the Wythe’s decide to return to their home in Texas due to a depression, Alice joins them in the hope that she can leave her past behind. Alice soon finds herself attracted to Marty’s handsome and kind nephew, Robert Barnett. Will Alice make peace with her past in order to [...]

    • “God knew the kind of wife I needed, and He brought you right to my doorstep.” -Robert BarnettThis book continues the story of Marty and Jake Wythe whom we met in the first book of the series, A Sensible Arrangement. Marty and Jake married, fell in love, and were suffering through the Denver depression at the end of the last novel. This story picks up as the depression deepens, and Jake is forced to make a move back to Texas for employment. Marty and her companion from the first nove [...]

    • The second book in the Lone Star Brides series takes us back to the Wythe household in Denver, Colorado. The 1893 financial crash has left Jake and Marty Wythe in near poverty, and Jake doesn’t know how long his bank job will continue. Alice Chesterfield is their last remaining member of staff, but they’re unable to pay her. Alice, however, is content just to have somewhere to live. Moving to Texas could solve a lot of problems, but Marty is still reluctant to move. It’s a continuation of [...]

    • Colorado and Texas, 1893"There will always be someone less fortunate than you," his mother had told him on many occasions, "and you must remember that what you do for them is serving the Lord himself."While A Moment in Time can be read as a stand alone novel, it does finish up the story of Marty and Jake Wythe from book one before progressing into the real depths of the story of Alice Chesterfield and Robert Barnett. It begins in Colorado where the last book was set and soon makes the move to Te [...]

    • “A Moment in Time” by Tracie Peterson is book two in the Lone Star Brides Series published by Bethany House. I enjoyed this book because it was well written and the story line was intriguing.Alice Chesterfield was injured in the same attack that killed her father. Since that attack she has been harassed by a man believing that she has something that her father left. She has lost everything because of the attack and because of the depression that has affected most of the country in 1893. Alic [...]
