    • Depressing, just as it ought to be. The publication that I have is from One Story, number 178. Who would really want to read a tiny 17 page story filled with happiness and joy? The author goes back and forth between a couple stories, including the OJ trial, an incident in sophomore year, (ect) in a fairly effective manner that illustrate the deeper feelings she has for her mom (that the prose can never properly express) and the ending is worth the wait.

    • A mother-daughter farewell party of sorts filled with regrets, memories, and indulgences. Listened to this on Selected Shorts. (Family Matters): soundcloud/selectedshorts

    • This was by far my favorite of the stories I've read in the journal One Story. At once hilarious, horrifying and incredibly moving. The very best of what a short story can be. Kudos, Ms. Perabo!
