    • This exhibit, which I was fortunate to not only see but also to be part of a docent led tour, is definitely in my top 5 favorite exhibits in the last year or so, and I’ve seen many I’ve loved during that period.This book is a fabulous exhibition catalog. It’s a bit text heavy and took some time to read.     • At first I was pessimistic about this exhibit. I admit, I find Pissaro's interiors, which include the family portraits that begin this exhibit, boring, almost Renoir-like in their banality, except that occassionally the depth, in the form of the shape and space of the doorways, is impressive.But, as the exhibit progresses, and it encompasses his whole career, the exteriors take over and are amazing. This exhibit went further than I had previously seen in addressing its subjects anarchist-utopian [...]


    • Anyone who enjoys reading about art will love this book. It is full of interesting information available no other place, not only about Camille Pissarro but about Impressionism and the cultural environment of that time.Best of all, it is just a good read--smart, eloquent, and funny (Pissarro had a great sense of humor and so does Dr. Brettell).
